Curaçá
Literature registers historical data of Curaçá from the 16th century. In 1562, the Jesuit Luís de Gran initiated the catechism works with the Indians that inhabited São Francisco Valley. Around 1593 Belchior Dias Moreira arrived at the lands of Pambú. On the occasion he also explored Ouricuri Mountain, today known as Borracha (rubber) Mountain.
