Carnival

 From the simple “fubica” (old car that carried the band) to the colossal “trios” of today, carnival in Salvador gained status, infrastructure and became the biggest street festival in the world. It conquered the heart of those who have already experienced these six days of non stop party with great artist of the music in 26km of streets and avenues of the city. Each year two million people, including tourists from all over the world, dance and sing along with the “trios elétricos” and the carnival associations.

If you are looking for something quieter but not less interesting, you can go to the countryside and enjoy festivals such as the “Carnaoeste” in the city of Barreiras, the paradisiacal carnival in Canavieiras, in the south of the state and “Folia Roots”, in Palmeiras, in the heart of Chapada Diamantina.
